The SST Industrial Wire Stripper is a great item that can significantly decrease wire stripping time. It is designed to cut up to 300 MCM or about 3/4" thick copper wires. The product has no motor, a foot pedal can be attached by rigging up a drill, but it is not advisable as it will be challenging to guide the wire and crank the machine simultaneously. SST is American made and can slice copper if tightened down too far. It is stable, heavy-duty, and well-built with a magnificent knob for dialing in cutter depth, which helps guide the wire cutter to the right spot. One buyer tap-con the machine to their concrete basement wall without problems, and it cut nicely from 14-4/0 so far. Overall, this is a great wire stripping machine that can be a money maker for those in the electrician industry with tons of leftover scrap wire. However, it is not versatile, will not strip soft wires, and may not work for small threads. The product is costly, and with no user manual included in the box, striping wire may require time to identify the correct spot to cut. It is an excellent purchase as long as the user is aware of the limitations of the product but note that there can be some challenges with the wire wrongly running up the side of the cutting wheel.
