The remote requires line of sight, but it can be used from further away as long as the signal beam is not interrupted. The fan provides an adaptor that allows you to transform voltage current from 120 volt AC to 24 volt DC. The DC model circulators have transformers that convert 120-240 volt AC power to 24 volt DC power. Additionally, the 5303DC can be controlled by two identical remotes. Customers are very happy with the fan’s remote; as it is extremely convenient to use. One customer said that the timer is a great feature as it allows the fan to turn off by itself.
