The Airmax EasyKlear Defense 2-in-1 Granular Pond Algae Control is an effective and fast-acting algaecide and aquatic weed treatment. It controls both algae and aquatic weeds in ponds and lakes. The product is recommended to be used when algae and weeds are actively growing, and it should be applied when they first appear. When using the product, it is important to treat the pond in sections and to treat only half of the pond's surface at a time. During hot weather or when treating heavy growth, it is important to treat no more than 1/4 of the pond at a time and wait the full 14 days before re-applying. This helps lower the risk of fish loss during hot weather or when treating heavy growth. The product works right away, but the time taken to start seeing results will depend on the volume of weeds in the pond. It is important to remove as much dead material as possible after the algae or weeds have browned and died to prevent an accumulation of dead plant material and muck. The product has some restrictions, and it should not be used in ponds with trout, koi, grass carp, or goldfish. It is also not for use in a water garden or koi ponds.
