Answer: For sure, yes. This is a good light weight multipurpose oil that lubricates. -

Will this work on my swamp cooler bearings?
Answer: 3in1 is a very light weight oil. It used to beTHE oil people use to lube their sewing machines. It will probably work in your swamp cooler. If the 3in 1 oil seems too thin try a 10W engine oil. -

Can this be used for an electrical contact cleaner?
Answer: WD-40 (or 3-in-1 oil) work extremely well as contact cleaner. The problem is, if used in environments where there could be dust, the oil residue causes dust to stick and creates more problems than you started with.
