This mortise lock set is heavy duty and sturdy, making it an excellent alternative to more expensive brands like Baldwin. It can be installed on both left and right hand doors and comes with a key. However, it is recommended to call a locksmith for installation. Customers praise its quality and smooth operation, but note that after locking it, the switch under the lock teeth must be reset each time to avoid being locked out. One customer put heavy duty duct tape over the switch on unlock to prevent this. Another customer noted that the lock did not come with the cylinder lock as shown in the installation video and required some experience to install. Overall, it is a good quality lock that fits perfectly where the old one was.
