Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
Is the boot waterproof?
Answer: Yes, the boot has a waterproof design. -
Question:
Can it withstand extremely cold temperatures?
Answer: Yes, it can withstand temperatures as low as -148° F. -
Question:
Does it provide good traction?
Answer: Yes, it has a fully tractioned rubber sole for superior grip. -
Question:
How much does each boot weigh?
Answer: Not sure of actual weight, but I feel they are not a heavy boot. Baffin.com was helpful. -
Question:
How many grams of thinsulate???
Answer: They don't use thinsulate. It's a synthetic felt lining Next to your skin or sock, then about a half inch of spongy foam product, followed by just under a quarter inch of felt type insulation, followed by about 1/8 in of felt foil lined mesh to reflect the heat back inwards. All combined it's about an inch thick boot liner that's removable. I actually called Baffin and they suggest you order two sizes up from your normal size. The biggest problem I had was my calf is 19 in and it was not a comfortable fit, Even in the men's. But it is a really warm boot and well made. -
Question:
how is the sizing? I w8 shear a size
Answer: I usually wear an 8, but ordered a 9. I have no issues, and there is room for good socks. -
Question:
how tall are these boots and will they accomodate a wide calf?
Answer: They will accommodate a wide calf. Mine are wide and they are very comfy. -
Question:
Can I wear these boots snowmobiling for long periods in very cold temperatures?
Answer: I use these boots for snowmobiling all day, and in fairly cold weather. I always wear a good wool sock with them. I haven't had any issues. -
Question:
Will the legs on a snowmobile suit or Carhartts fit over the calves?
Answer: Yes, my snowpants fit over the top. I love these boots also! They are a nice snug, warm fit.
Baffin Mid-Calf Editorial Review

Reviewers rave about the exceptional comfort, noting the snug fit and cushioned interior that cradles the foot effectively. While the boots are lightweight, they may feel bulky to some. Many users recommend sizing up, particularly for additional sock room. Although the upper part's waterproof capability remains a bit uncertain, the boot's durable design and adjustable straps enhance the fit. Perfect for outdoor adventures in harsh winter weather, these boots are a must for anyone facing low temperatures.
