The first version only applies to fitting with an outside diameter of more than 6mm. The tool comes ready to use with no need to add extra hydraulic fluid. However, if you find that you can’t get a good crimp on the ferrules for 1/8”SST cable, place a washer under the die, and it works like a charm. The device is hard to use on stainless steel because stainless steel is hard, and it is slow since you have to pump it so many times. The handles are quite short and require a lot of arm strength to use.
